Both have been linked with the manager's job at the Scottish champions following the former manager's departure on the start of the week.

The Manager's Stance on The Scottish Club

McKenna referred to the Glasgow giants as "a really big soccer institution" but stressed he is "in the middle" of a "extensive rebuilding" with Ipswich Town.

The 39-year-old assumed control of Ipswich in recent years and led them to the Premier League with consecutive elevations, but they managed only four games last campaign as they were relegated back to the second division and they presently occupy 12th in England's second tier.

"I have not had such discussions," the London-born former Northern Ireland young player said when asked about being on the candidate list.

"This isn't a matter I have considered seriously, or where any portion of my focus is currently.

"I possess a special job here at a remarkable team. And we're at a crucial stage of the campaign. Everything outside of that hasn't reached my awareness."

Context and Contractual Details

It has been suggested that McKenna would be open to speaking to the Scottish side given his boyhood allegiances.

"Growing up, we all have our affinities," he said when asked about these. "I don't think everyone has to go around and declare what they used to be, but naturally it's a massive sports organization."

McKenna signed a new multi-year deal in last year and was asked about his reported buyout clause.

"In every manager's contract, there are things," he responded. "I'm unaware what my specific terms are and, were I informed, I wouldn't disclose you anyway!

"I approach this role like I'll be Ipswich manager forever. I know that's not invariably going to be the situation, but I'll always do my best as while I am here."

The Welsh Coach's Situation

The former striker played for Celtic on loan from Newcastle United in the mid-2000s, but the former Wales striker is minded to finish the ongoing global tournament qualification, a stance that would effectively rule out the mid-forties from assuming the Celtic job.

Wales are presently third in their World Cup group behind group toppers the Red Devils and second-placed North Macedonia.

Wins over the minnows and North Macedonia in November would book their position in the final qualifying round, but they are all but guaranteed of making those, due to a productive Nations League performance, even if they fail to end up Group J second place.

Given his present stance, Bellamy, whose contract expires after Euro 2028, would not be available until after the qualifying matches at the earliest.
