The President Calls Loved Ones of Attacked Guard Soldiers to White House

President Donald Trump stated on Sunday that he has invited the loved ones of a Guard member fatally shot last week to attend the executive mansion.

He added that he conversed with her parents and they were “devastated”.

Details on the Tragic Event

Specialist Sarah Beckstrom, twenty years old, was killed in a shooting on last Wednesday in the nation's capital.

Her comrade, Staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, remains hospitalized in serious condition.

Memorials across the state have occurred in their memory.

Presidential Call

The commander-in-chief said he’s talked about a meeting at the presidential residence for the families of both members of the West Virginia Guard.

“I stated: ‘When you’re prepared, because that’s a hard experience, visit the White House. We’re going to recognize her,” the president told journalists. “And similarly with Andrew, whether he recovers or not.”

Public Support

Mourners assembled over the weekend at Webster County high school in the state to pay respects to Beckstrom.

Both the soldiers had been fulfilling duties with the state guard as part of the president’s national effort to aid law enforcement in the capital.

Remembering Beckstrom

“She was the individual that teachers desired. She conducted herself with inner fortitude, a warm expression and a positive energy that lifted people around her,” the principal, the principal of Beckstrom’s alma mater, told the press. “She was sweet, compassionate and always willing to help others.”

Memorial arrangements for Beckstrom are still being arranged.

Judicial Steps and Policy Revisions

Authorities have indicted a 29-year-old individual from Afghanistan with one count of homicide and two counts of assault with intent to kill while carrying a weapon.

The event caused the Trump administration to pause asylum applications and halt providing entry permits to owners of Afghan passports.

Condition of Andrew Wolfe

The airman, a native of the city, started his military career in 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of Musselman high school, as reported by the Associated Press.

He continues to receive treatment and is “in a critical fight”, the state’s leader Patrick Morrisey stated on Fox News Channel’s The Sunday Briefing.

The state’s top lawyer Bondi told Fox News Sunday that she aimed to meet with the family.

Memory of Beckstrom

Sarah, from Summersville, completed her education from Webster County high school in 2023 and enlisted soon after, working as a law enforcement officer with distinction, per the military.

“She had a lot of compassion and she absolutely had fortitude,” Morrisey informed the gathering at the memorial. “Though her time was cut short, she has made an impact that’s going to last forever.”
