Football Expert Chris Sutton Takes On Artist Murs in Premier League Forecasts

The Gunners' 10-game victorious streak was ended by Sunderland prior to the global hiatus, however can the English top division frontrunners recover against local foes Spurs this Sunday?

"{I believe like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this match," stated soccer specialist Chris Sutton.

"Frank will try to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling finest this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's team typically still find a way to win."

The analyst is making predictions for all 380 Premier League fixtures this season, against AI, fans and a variety of guests.

For week 12, he takes on singer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United supporter.

The singer's latest record, Knees Up, is out on the weekend.

Soccer and Parenting Experiences

Murs is a talented footballer as well as a successful singer and has been a featured player of several Soccer Aid matches over time - but he is not planning a serious comeback as a player.

"{I actually played in a charity match the other evening for a mate of mine," he explained. "My side was trailing 3-1 when I was substituted in the 60th minute, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you want!

"I still love football, but I hurt my knee a few years ago and it still hasn't fully recovered. I wish I could play more but the uncertainty of the sport means it's too risky for me in my profession to do it properly again.

"Additionally I am forty-one now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am preparing for the time that my child or boy chooses to play instead."

The singer and his spouse his partner have two children, their daughter and their son, and he is ready to follow in his father's footsteps by becoming their coach.

"I will not push football on our kids but I've previously told my wife that if they do get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will likely be coaching their weekend football side," he added.

"I watched my nephews play a lot, and I really got into it, and I obviously was involved with a football club for a period too.

"My dad did it with us when I was a kid, which is probably where I get it from. He coached our side for several seasons and had great fun with it. That could be the next step for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Top Division Predictions

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues might have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's comeback from fitness issues but their attack is now stronger with Joao Pedro and Delap both back fit.

I still think this fixture will be quite close, though. The Clarets are disciplined and their only at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against Liverpool and the Gunners.

This smells of a one-all draw to me, but I am in fact going to choose Chelsea to win narrowly for what would be their third Premier League win in a row.

Sutton's forecast: 1-2

The singer's prediction: The Blues will be too strong. 1-3

AI's outlook: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have lost their previous couple games - albeit both of them were away - but they got thoroughly beaten by Aston Villa last time out which surprised me.

On the other hand, West Ham won two in a row before the hiatus and, although both of those fixtures were at home, they do look competitive again.

West Ham's only away victory this season came at Nottingham Forest in August, when West Ham boss Nuno was previously that team's coach.

So, what exactly do I predict here - can West Ham extending their run under Nuno, or the home side responding?

I will go with the Cherries, because I think what happened against Villa was a anomaly.

Sutton's forecast: 2-0

The guest's prediction: Bournemouth are performing strongly but the visitors have improved under their boss. 2-2

The algorithm's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were seen as one of the favourites for the drop before the campaign began, but they have surprised a few people under Keith Andrews and are in good form with three in their last four matches.

A family member told me to select Bees forward Igor Thiago in my fantasy soccer team a few weeks back and, unfortunately, I ignored the advice.

Thiago will likely find the net again on the weekend but I am nonetheless not going to select him or support the away side at Brighton's ground.

The Bees have not had great fortune on the travel this season, and Brighton are always decent at home. The visitors will try to attack on the break but I think Fabian Hurzeler's team carry much more of a danger.

The analyst's prediction: 2-1

The singer's prediction: It could be a match where you think there is going to be a lot of scores but it in reality turns out to be rather tight. 1-1

AI's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a huge game for Fulham, who have suffered defeat in five of their past six games.

They have got plenty of talent in their squad but it nonetheless seems like they could be dragged into a drop zone battle.

As for Sunderland, indeed they are the unexpected success of the top flight campaign so far.

Their performance in the 2-2 tie with Arsenal last time out was excellent. We have not seen any other team rough up the Gunners like that this season, and they were fully competitive for them.

The sensible thing to do to support the visitors here, because they are clearly able of roughing Fulham up too and, the previous occasion they were in this part of London, they defeated the Blues at the close of October.

But I am not choose that. Instead, I truly need to carry on opposing the away team with my forecasts. I am taking a lot of responsibility for their good results because they clearly love to defy my predictions.

Considering Fulham's at Craven Cottage form, the sole team they have been defeated by is Arsenal. Their manager's side will be absolutely eager for a positive outcome, so I am going to predict they will pick up three much-needed points.

The expert's forecast: 1-0

The guest's prediction: I know the visitors are performing strongly and additionally that Fulham are on a bad run... but they have nonetheless been respectable at home this season. 2-0

AI's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a tough fixture to call. Liverpool have suffered seven of their past 10 matches in every tournament, but could they be one of the teams who benefit from the {international break|
